Review on Gates 38410 Belt Tensioner by David Boulanger
Tensioner failed on my 07 Camry 3
My 07 Camry 3.5 v6 with 123,000 miles had a tensioner failure. I compared this Gates tensioner to an OEM Toyota tensioner part number 1662031040. My opinion. not even close, the Toyota part seems more reliable or better built. The problem is that installing this part on an 07 Camry is very difficult and time consuming. Save on the cheaper part but you may lose labor/time if the part fails.
