Review on Rancilio Silvia Group Head Gasket πŸ”§ - Authentic OEM Part for Optimal Performance by Nathan Pintac

Group head too large - seals

years. before, as well as reading many reviews on the Internet. I took off the old gasket and carefully cleaned the groove where the gasket sits. The replacement gasket was VERY difficult to fit into the groove, it seems to be too big. Finally, after 15 minutes of pushing as hard as I could to install the gasket, I put the filter back in place and turned the car right side up. It took at least 10 very hard pushes before the porto filter could finally be slid up and it's still very difficult to turn clockwise to close it before espresso is dispensed. Have used it 10 times now and heating and rotating the porto filter has not reduced the difficulty of using the porto filter with a new gasket. Yes, replacing the gasket stopped the water from dripping out of the porto filter, but now it bothers me just trying to crank the porto filter. NOTE: The old gasket looked like it had a groove on the side down that touched the porto filter. The new gasket is flat on both sides with no groove. But all suppliers said that the replacement seal is for all Rancilio Silvia machines, regardless of age or model. Upgrading my rating to 4 stars. After using a new gasket for 3-4 weeks the porto filter became a little easier to put in and rotate. Most importantly, the water stops dripping and you get great foam again.
