This worked really well for all the mats that were sliding around my house. For the first rug I used triangular rugs and decided that using longer pieces would be overkill. I'm so glad I didn't add the longer pieces because even with 4 pieces it won't move when I tape the rug to the floor. I also cut the longer pieces in half to use for more rugs and it works really well! Now I don't have to worry about the mats slipping all over the place and it's very easy to peel them off when I need to sweep/mop the hardwood floors. But it's also durable enough when pulled that accidentally stepping on the carpet will no longer cause it to fly across the room. I used them for floor mats in the bathroom and kitchen. If I get more rugs I will definitely buy them so they stay in place too!
