Review on Gates 39120 Belt Tensioner Assembly: Optimal Performance Guaranteed by Sean Davis
Tension can be good.
I replaced the tensioner on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L. The belt tension is now high. I had to replace the smooth pulley as the included plastic pulley moved crookedly. Since my other clothes were only a few months old and made of steel, I replaced them with new ones. Now it works fine.
