Loose Knob Never Feels Secure

Other than being very heavy, yet budget friendly, the knob on the lid is perpetually loose because the silicon gasket is donut shaped rather than flat causing it to slide out of place. In order to put the gasket back in place, one must completely unscrew the knob from the lid, place the gasket correctly on the screw, and then screw the knob back into place. Even after this procedure, the knob never feels secure so be careful. See photos. Within the year, the gasket disintegrated. I would not recommend this product based on the lid alone.Because my enameled cast iron Lodge 5 quart does not always accommodate my 10-inch sourdough boules and bรขtards, I upgraded to a DIJA 7 quart which can fit around my loaves comfortably without bumping up against the sides avoiding the scorched marks normally seen from using a 5 quart. Here in lies the problem with a larger cast iron dutch oven. Itโ€™s heavier and larger which means less maneuverability while working with a 500ยฐF oven. To give context, I pre-heat my baking stone and dutch oven to 500ยฐF. Working quickly so as not to lose too much heat, I then have to move the 7 quart out of the way (because there is no space otherwise) and slide my loaf onto the baking stone and then carefully cover the loaf with the very heavy and very hot dutch oven which I find is more difficult than a 5 quart because I bump up against the top of the oven. Understandably, this is no fault of DIJA.As a working pot in my kitchen, Iโ€™ve made stews, popcorn, and jam with great ease because of the nonstick feature and clean-up is easy too which canโ€™t be said for the Lodge as it stains easily.
