Review on High-Performance Gates TCK282 PowerGrip Premium Timing Belt Component Kit: Engine Efficiency and Durability by Seth Waldron

I installed this Gates timing belt kit professionally and the mechanic followed the instructions very closely; Almost a month later I was driving and the engine suddenly stopped and would not start. I took my 2006 KIA Rio back to the shop to find that the new timing belt had completely come undone and the timing belt tensioner had come loose and gone. When removing the cylinder head, all the valves were bent and the intake valves in the 2nd cylinder were pierced. I hate to believe the positive reviews for this product and will try to contact Gates for a refund. Do not use this kit if you want your engine to fail, it was made in China and probably didn't pass quality control. This product is dangerous.
