no issues with roughness or snagging
I prefer plastic hoops over wooden hoops - no rough edges or worries about flimsy material or snagging silk threads. Once the hoop is in place and snug, I can also tug on the fabric a little here and there to get a smooth fit without fear of any snags. The screw mechanisms are easy to tighten/loosen and work very smoothly. The plastic is very malleable, which makes it easy to attach the hoop to fabrics of different thicknesses. Good range of sizes. Storage bag is a nice bonus
