The starter fits and works perfectly on my 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L (199k on the odometer). Although I can't predict its longevity as it's only been a week since it was installed. I will say one thing, this launcher is a huge pain to install. It's not the starter's fault, it's GM's design to frustrate it by not having room to pull the starter out, our slide into the new one. Long story short, if you're grateful your starter is going bad, pay money and have someone put it in before it runs out and you'll bust and have to pay the cashier to get it. We're just like me and it's 30 degrees in the driveway and you pick it up and 3 hours later you get a creeper, lots of nasty words later and you race it. (not to mention your wife is completely upset because you are arguing and annoying your neighbors)
