I was disappointed to find that it took TWO hands to do the job; one to hold the alarm and the other to pull out the pin. Now most of us already use at least one hand when we are outside, be it just with a purse or a large bag. If you are grabbed from behind in an emergency, you hardly have two hands free. You need something that's ready to go, something you can hold in one hand and hover your finger over the activator, be it a pin or a button. The alarm sound was ok. However, I will add that you need two hands to stop it. So if you had a "false alarm" or the danger had passed and you needed to turn off the alarm before you lost your mind and hearing, you couldn't do it right away. From home I found it a bit difficult to fix the pin in the socket. I have to imagine it would be even harder if I was panicking somewhere, heart pounding. I can't help but wonder how well this alarm worked for people in dangerous real-world environments.
