I use this device to start the fuel pump on an old 1973 car. If the car takes too long to fit the carb, I have to crank the engine for 60 seconds to pump fuel up the carb. I installed a free flow electric fuel pump and used this time delay circuit to power the pump. The timer turns on the pump. When I press the momentary button it runs for 12 seconds and then turns off, all I have to do is press the button once and exit. If I hold it down it doesn't matter which prevents fuel from spilling into the carb if the pump is on for too long it's only on for 12 seconds at a time if you want to start it again you have to hit the pump wait to complete its 12 second cycle, then you can let it run another 12 seconds.
