My truck sounds mean!

I decided to buy this air intake, I knew it wouldn't improve performance, mostly not. Sure, this reduces airflow restrictions, but it doesn't compress the air. It arrives in two days with a primer, it takes 15 minutes longer to fit the thermal protection and attachment points than it should have. As a suggestion to K&N, please pack the devices in the marked bags or boxes beforehand, for heaven's sake. Now for installing a heat shield. The instructions say to mount the screen in the factory bottom holes, but nothing is said about the side mounting bracket, which must have a common hole on the inside of the fender that was almost impossible to reach. It's not mentioned in the instructions because if you don't remove the plastic trim and the trim between the hood and the wipers, there is NOT ENOUGH SPACE for you! It's no fun getting your head and hand caught between the hood lifter and the hood. So the ease of installation was bad just because of that attachment point. However, it makes my truck rumble on light throttle and absolutely ROAR on hard throttle! That alone was worth the price of reception and the hassle of installation! No check engine lights, no weird works, just pure ROAR! Increased fuel consumption is not to be expected if you keep your foot on the ground all the time, so I can't comment on that yet!
