Works, but the cord is very short. - REVISION

I was very interested in this as I've tried several homemade methods of joining threads with little results. I'm really amazed at the lifespan of the product as I have a bunch of junk that I have stored and it's basically a connection every 6-7 minutes according to the instructions. I had to install it on the floor. I couldn't reach the kitchen table with the cable. I usually do this at my work place where my printers are, but even there this cable is practically useless. In general, I am satisfied with the first attempt. It was as easy as the instructions say. I probably pushed too hard and got flat wings, but the connection looks solid. If you have a clean kitchen table or similar workspace this is probably ideal, but I'd appreciate an extra two feet of cord just to have some flexibility on where to use it. EDIT: 8/21/2021 lots of time to play around with this, but today I sat down and started going through my thread trimmer debt and ran into a few additional issues. The metal pins that pass through the upper and lower jaws and fix the shape of the polymer thread heat up and don't cool down as quickly as the plate in the mold. After about 6 or 7 connections they were very hot and making the carpentry machine difficult to work with. At some point during my connections today, a piece of resin broke off and feeding filament from that side became a bit more difficult. Now I have to load from this side and push the second piece from the other. Today I was able to achieve a stable connection and the spool is a testament to their ability to connect threads. There are a few issues with this device and it could seriously use some improvement. I'm not sure how long this will be, I've only used it a couple of times and it's already damaged.

Pros
  • 2. Our 3D printing filament connector uses constant temperature micro heater, the maximum temperature does not exceed 220℃. For safety and faster cooling, do not leave the heater on for more than 3 minutes.
