It takes a little patience, but great!

OK, the instructions didn't work for me either, but here's what worked. 1. Align 2 threaded pieces on the small joint plate inside. It takes a little patience, but the closer you are to the center, the better your connection will be. 2: Set the timer for 45 SECONDS and turn it on. DO NOT exceed 45 seconds or you will burn your filament and it will become brittle. 3: When the timer is up, turn it off, grab the thread anywhere you want and push LIGHTLY towards the center, you should feel itโ€ฆ

Works, but the cord is very short. - REVISION

I was very interested in this as I've tried several homemade methods of joining threads with little results. I'm really amazed at the lifespan of the product as I have a bunch of junk that I have stored and it's basically a connection every 6-7 minutes according to the instructions. I had to install it on the floor. I couldn't reach the kitchen table with the cable. I usually do this at my work place where my printers are, but even there this cable is practically useless. In general, I amโ€ฆ

Works well, could be improved with a few tweaks.

So this is a fairly complete set in terms of the accessories that come with it. It came with the filament fixing tool itself, as well as a power supply, a pair of flushing pliers (the kind that comes with many 3D printers), a few strips of sandpaper to handle the finished joint after the filament is melted together. The instructions say to heat the tool up for 2-3 minutes and then let it cool down for 4-5 minutes. In practice, I've had the best results by warming it up for 3-4 minutes andโ€ฆ
