Easy installation, low price but big positive difference

If you have read the reviews and are still wondering if this product is worth your investment, just stop. buy you. Even before I received it in the mail, I received an email from customer service saying I could be contacted if I had any problems. Pretty impressive as I have 2 day Premier Shipping. The packaging is simple with very clear replacement instructions. A simple flathead screwdriver is all you need for the replacement, although I'd recommend having a rubber mallet or an extra shoe to knock off the old ones (mine were original from 2000 and pretty stuck). Everyone says it took 10 minutes to install. Of these I spent 8 minutes trying to figure out how to hold the gate after removing the old one (they are quite heavy and you have to be VERY careful not to close them or the glass will break). I ended up placing the chair behind the bumper, putting one foot on the bumper, the other on the chair, and supporting the gate with my back while I installed the new supports. Gates with these struts tower much higher than factory, so you can spend a few minutes thinking about how to secure your support (easiest with a friend). can both be done in under a minute if you have a friend holding the gate. Just make sure you pry up the bracket slightly with a screwdriver and slide these posts open. The end result is very good. They actually make your rear cargo space more usable due to the ease of loading (you can use a forklift to load when they're on). The doors open gently and close securely. No more cold morning gates where the gates won't stay open while you try to boot. As mentioned, if you are smaller you might consider pulling on the rope to help you close. I'm 6ft 2in and I think it's great. My wife is 5ft 0in and looks like a state farm ad with a lady jumping on the end of a fishing line for a dollar. "Oops. almost had it." In general. Great product at a great price with easy installation and great results. Mandatory update for all excursions.
