It took less than 5 minutes to swap them out. The extra height above the 4x4 is great because now I don't have to worry about banging my head (6ft 2in) on the window. They were set at 30 degrees and very stiff even at that temperature. Update: It's been over a year and a half now and they're still as solid as the day they were installed.

When I first tried installing them on a truck I thought they wouldn't fit. Two centimeters longer. Then I realized I had to remove the two old support shock absorbers and the tailgate had more lift. After installation, the elevator that I used to bump my head against is now about a foot above my head when fully open. Honestly, I find these supports stronger than the old ones. I don't know how long they will last but so far they are working great.

They raise the tailgate higher than before. It used to be 90-95 degrees but now it's closer to 110! Ideal for tall people sitting in the back. However, it is difficult for 5 inch children to reach it! Due to the higher lifting height, the two old ones have to be removed before the new one can be installed. 2x4s from the ground did the job of holding the hatch. I slammed this sunroof when I replaced it and if it falls like that the whole rear window will shatter!

The uprights fit, they definitely increase the height of the gate as advertised. We had a small issue with a jammed jamb preventing us from opening the tailgate. We were only able to open the gate a few inches, which was enough to remove the clip and then open and remove the jamb. The products work well, I recommend holding the tailgate when opening it to prevent it from slamming shut. Installed on the day of arrival. Very easy to install. The overhead gate would open quickly once you unlocked it and lifted it slightly. I thought it was cute.
