Pros: - Looks solid for a 200 lb man using the monopod position - Puts on and takes off in a few seconds - Inexpensive - The position is high enough to fit most of the trunk accessible from the tailgate. Cons: - Not big enough to support both legs at the same time (torso size 10.5). - The location of the door lock in my Subaru Forester is so high in the door frame that it takes quite a bit of strength to get up the step and the roof rails are a must for easier manoeuvring. You only have one hand free to load and unload your cargo on the roof. All in all, this seems like a simple solution to loading cargo onto a roof rack, but be careful and give it some thought. If you have weak leg strength, I recommend using a different, more stable approach to the task.
