Just to be clear, this is a switch, not a router! Search the internet for the difference between a switch and a router to learn more. I wanted to share internet access from my cable modem with my computer and my new internet-enabled Blu-ray player. Well I learned the hard way that this switch doesn't help! If you already have a router (wired or wireless) between your cable modem and your computer, you can use such a switch to connect additional computers. It just gives you more ports, but doesn't translate IP addresses to the outside world (which you need if you want to access the internet from multiple network devices). I bought the router from Best Buy for $40, but of course you can also buy them from Revain. They are slightly more expensive than a simple switch. Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know! Otherwise I think it's very good!
