Review on EBC Brakes DP2576 Greenstuff Sport by Stephen Good

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I was a little disappointed in the first few months because of the first bites.

I bought these EBC brake pads and rotors ten years ago and they are waiting to be fitted to a 90 foot Eclipses GST that has been in storage but has been slightly modified to 300 wheel horsepower . When lapping, they initially produced a lot of brake dust, but after a few weeks it was all gone. I was a bit disappointed in the first few months as the first few bites weren't enough in my opinion. But after about three months of bumper-to-bumper driving and a few high-speed stops, they improved and were completely lapped. These are good brakes by any measure, but they can easily overheat at triple-digit speeds. If EBC came out with a red series for the DSM 1G I would try them as they are rated for a higher temperature. But so far they work well as a daily. These pads were paired with slotted and knobbed EBC rotors, which are also slightly above average. Slots make a bit of noise by design which is to be expected but tends to warp slightly after some hard breaking but is still within the acceptable range for now.

Pros
  • Ideal for lighter compacts
Cons
  • There are new competitors
