Serious design problem! The housing has a threaded adapter held in place by a locking ring. Everything is going well, including the filter, but wait, that's not all. An adapter located in the housing allows fluid to pass between the outer rim (dirty oil side) and the clean side of the filter, allowing dirty, unfiltered oil into the engine or transmission. HOW? The threaded adapter fits into the recess but there is no gasket connecting it to the filter. The pressurized oil thus flows past the retaining ring and under the hexagon of the adapter to the clean side of the filter. Are you talking about sealing? However, the fluid pressure will blow out the sealant since the adapter is not pressed against the body. Just a locking ring holding it loose. It's like putting an oil pan on an engine and applying sealant to it without tightening the bolts to compress the gasket. I reported this to the manufacturer and received no response from them. I suggest if you want to use this to (1) weld the threaded adapter to the body or (2) make a groove for the o-ring in the threaded adapter (3) install a gasket between the threaded adapter and the body and You MUST drill into them and install the screws to hold the gasket/sealant under pressure. USE OF THIS PRODUCT RISKS SERIOUS ENGINE DAMAGE.
