Serious design problem! The housing has a threaded adapter held in place by a locking ring. Everything is going well, including the filter, but wait, that's not all. An adapter located in the housing allows fluid to pass between the outer rim (dirty oil side) and the clean side of the filter, allowing dirty, unfiltered oil into the engine or transmission. HOW?
