Review on Viotek GN32LD QHD 32 Inch Curved Gaming Monitor - 144Hz Refresh Rate, 2560X1440 Resolution, FreeSync and Anti-Glare Technology, Adjustable Stand, HDMI and DVI Input by Tariq Blakeney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best 32 " 144Hz curved monitor on the market.

I researched for several hours before deciding on this monitor. I thought my requirements were: 32 inch, curved, 144 Hz, 2K. Any monitor I found that met most of my needs seemed like a gamble, and there was only a 50 percent chance of getting a good monitor. I really wanted a Samsung 32 inch but it got one of the worst reviews. Their assembly plant seems like a mess, and as they build, their monitors end up in dust and debris. Then I found Viotek, Viotek gets parts from Samsung so it's the same monitor! I really liked the Samsung stand, but the Viotek stand is solid, works great and takes up very little desk space. I have currently ordered two of these monitors a week apart. The inside of both boxes smelled like an old speedboat (old standing water, it's very distinctive), mostly styrofoam, and I haven't noticed the smell since I threw away the styrofoam and boxes. Step to screw in 3 small screws. There is a mini screwdriver in the box but I highly recommend using a magnetic screwdriver if you have one like the one in the picture. Using the included mini driver will give you trouble as the screws won't turn the first time. I used to think my old 23 inch Acer monitors had almost no ghosting and were a really high quality display. But this Viotek knocks them out completely. A picture shows a comparison with one of my old monitors next to it. I didn't adjust the colors at all as they are gorgeous right out of the box. I did a UFO halo test and I can actually see the alien's face. Windows automatically sets the monitor's frequency to 60Hz, so you'll need to go into the advanced display driver properties to change it to 144Hz. Do not turn on the super resolution! This made the picture look weird and I thought the monitor sucked for a hot minute before realizing I had changed the setting incorrectly. I have included photos of black screen monitors as some have mentioned having issues with them. One of them shows what looks like light streaks at the bottom of the monitor (the stripes are my fault, I opened a soda in front of me and it splattered the screen uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu of me and I don't have e-napkins for it yet ) ). BUT it's NOT the backlight, it's camera angle, contrast and exposure on the phone. Another shot of the same monitor showing the same thing but with better contrast on camera shows how great it looks in person. However, these photos do NOT do this monitor justice. I cannot recommend this animal enough.
