We bought this unit to replace a cheaper unit from a place that rhymes with Great Barber. So far this has worked great. Installation was easy and worked very well with virtually zero false alarms (unlike the old device). It has a solar-powered sensor (which you can still charge via a USB port if you can't get enough sunlight) and the receiver plugs into a household outlet. There are also volume controls and options to change the sound of the alarm. Also, it has been raining heavily for the last two weeks and the sensor unit didn't seem to be working one iota.
