Review on πŸ”΄ Polymaker 1 ASA Filament by Tony Suggs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I can't believe I've never heard of this stuff

This filament is amazing. I've done so much with PLA, especially Sunlu's PLA+, and it's good, but since I'm making things that I want to survive outside on a summer's day and in the heat of a car, I need something better. The PLA+ warped outside or inside my car. I haven't had any luck trying PETG on my Ender 5 Plus and was too scared to try anything new because it can be so painful when a jet is clogged. I stumbled across this footage from an online video showing them using it in a car's engine bay as a housing for its air filter. Obviously this material doesn't warp until about 93Β°C, so that's way more heat resistance than I'll ever need. In addition, it is UV resistant and comparable to ABS in terms of strength and durability. The biggest plus of this filament is that it prints so easily. I don't have a case heater and haven't had any buckling problems at all. It prints like PLA but works better than ABS. Very happy with this material and will stick with this thread if I need something durable yet easy to print. If you need functional, durable and heat-resistant parts, choose this material. My successful print settings on my Ender 5 Plus hot end: 250Β°C Media: 98Β°C Print speed: 40-50mm/s Fan speed: 10% I haven't tried this with a standard hotend. I used TH3D's E3D V6 hotend.
