Update 05/10/2021 like this. On a 61500-ish truck I put them on for about 30,000 ish. So they did what the original brakes used to do. My first 4runner (2004) needed brakes and calipers every 15,000. At 30k this truck needed discs and pads, at 60k it just needed pads (at least that's what I was told on 5/12/2021). This time I got the PowerStop pads as they did what the OEM did. I don't know about you, but every time I changed the first set of brakes, I got about half of what I got in the first set. Heck I even got 85k for one set but it's a heavier truck so 30k for a second set is highly recommended. Heck, PowerStop, if you want to send in some stickers I'll proudly display them on the rear window. Update 09/27/202050000 oil changes. Still at 7mm, which Toyota still thinks is green. Guess the last guy was wrong. Still happy. No deformation. Excellent trip. Looks like I can just replace the pads. I've got about 20,000 on it. And they are at or just over halfway through life. They hold incredible. I really like her. Update 7/6/2020 just changed the oil to 45000 and the brakes to 10mm front and 8mm rear. Guessing the guy lied last time, this guy spent more time and I watched him measure. I've got about 15000 on them right now (give or take, I've recorded mileage somewhere) but they should outperform the original brakes and it looks like I might reuse the rotors next time too so they're saving me a total of 1000 for 2 brake jobs update 12/03/2020 just changed the oil and they measured the brakes, I have about 7000 miles on the brakes and they measured 9mm. the new ones are about 11.5, that's 2mm at 7000. i should get about what i got on the oem originals. maybe a little less. and again I increased the size of the tires and went with l. I should be able to just swap out the pads next time so they saved me a ton of $$$$ overall. Update 01/13/2020 Ok, I have to admit, the braking performance is much better. They grip easily and earlier than the old brakes. If you've ever driven a Toyota you know how good the brakes are, and these are a lot better. higher pedal height, overall very satisfied so far. seems to wear well. Will have an update at my next service in about 4000 miles but I've opted for the LT tire and a size up, don't know about durability yet but will update this over time. just installed them but the pins are not the right size so i ordered them too. The mechanic said these were the best brakes I could get (and he's a Toyota guy). I did the breaking in as instructed and they seem to be holding up pretty well. they smoked during a recess in the trial. the truck drives much nicer, no more jerking. if I get 20k of it, it's worth it, with installation it's still 40% less than at the dealer.
