As a cat owner new to the dog world, I quickly discovered that potty training a dog is a completely different process than potty training a cat. through the idea of bell training after much research. I chose this call because it is wall mounted. Other bells I've encountered were on the door or on the doorknob and I didn't want the bell to ring every time someone opened the door. So this bell is good as I was able to mount it on the wall next to our sliding glass door. After about 20 minutes and a decent amount of Cheerios, I successfully taught my 10 week old German Shepherd/Red Heeler puppy to call. We taught her to ring her nose every time she needed/wanted to go outside. And since then we haven't had a single accident in the house. The issue we had prior to our call was that when she needed to go outside she would just sit at the door to let us know what worked if we happened to see her sitting at the door so we would open it for her . But if we were in another room and couldn't see her, she would have an accident in the house. The call is great because now we can hear them calling even if we are in a different part of the house! The only annoying thing about teaching our dog to call is that our cat seemed to be taking notes. Now we have a cat that rings the bell because it wants out! Instead he built a cation, now everyone is happy.
