Review on The EZBR-0214+ EZ-Bridge-Lite: High-Power Outdoor Wireless Point-to-Point System by Miriam Mendez

Not so easy "EZ Bridge Lite "

Looks like a well made product that works well once built. I had a hard time downloading and running the Discovery Tool software and found the technical support to be almost non-existent. Technical support is not available more than 4 days a week during normal business hours and most of the time you will not receive a live answer to your call and will instead receive voicemail. I was able to get a few emails back and forth but never spoke to anyone about support. Luckily I solved the problems myself. First, their website offers multiple options for the required discovery software, and it's hard to know which version you need. Second, you need to download Java on your Windows 10 computer before you can use the Discovery software. This is where I got stuck as I was able to download and run a version of the Discovery software without Java letting me believe Java was installed. Then when I downloaded other versions of the software, it wouldn't open. When I found Java wasn't installed, I found instructions on how to download it to my computer. This allowed the Discovery software to open and run, which solved my problems. Once this was done, the EZ Bridge could be found in the Discovery program and everything worked. Yes, the antennas are pre-configured so I didn't have to do any setup to get them working. The mistake was that I mistakenly thought I had Java installed on my computer. This step will cause problems and frustration for many computer novices, especially if they have the same trouble getting support as I do. Otherwise, the devices seem to be working fine now that they're set up. I'll come back to update if I have any difficulties with actual usage. So far I have installed blocks in various places (only about 1/10th of a mile). They could connect without even installing them outside. Hoping that the installation will make them even better.

Pros
  • It meets 802.11g and n compatibility standards.
Cons
  • So far so good
