These discs will remove anything from any surface. I've used on wood, brick and metal. I bought these black ones because the purple ones ate everything. It's a little lighter on the material but will grind brick and metal. I use it to remove 30 year old paint, putty and window glaze from the metal frame of a window I am restoring and to remove the same from a brick structure. It took 3 washers to remove a line of caulk and paint from the brick surrounding the old door molding. It will still eat metal and brick. Apparently, the angle grinders could not be used in hard-to-reach places and the discs were wearing down on the outer edges, which is not related to the factory setting. I wish these discs were made for rotary tools and had a softer grit for each size. I recommend using these discs with a light touch and would recommend as they remove pretty much everything.
