It's the easiest cat fountain I've ever had to clean (4-5 of them), especially since it's stainless steel. Haven't tried it in the dishwasher yet (cats won't do without it that long!) Filters VERY easy to change/remove. I do have to clean/change more often since our boy drinks and slobbers like a dog, plus sheds which clogs filter.Noise wise--- depending on how much you open the flow which causes arching water and noise, but it sounds like gentle bubbling. Strongly suggest you put a plastic mat or placemat under it. Our cats like to play in the water!
