When I first installed it I understood why they are universally popular. Now, 2 years and 6000 miles later, one of the two has failed and the other is failing. What happens is that the connection between the moving pin and the lever wears out. It was originally a perfect circle, but now they are oval. Because of this, the lever doesn't want to move the pin, it gets stuck when closing. I wouldn't buy another set but now I have this huge airlock specific hole in my hood. I'm stuck trying to buy a replacement for the life of the car. A simple design improvement would be to make the linkage out of metal instead of fiberglass. On the male, everything else is fiberglass and plastic, no problem.
