Review on MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 255/40 R18 105Y summer by Janis Kronbergs ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not quite what I wanted, but mostly okay.

Auto Audi A5 2.0tfsi quattro stage 2. During the winter of 2022-2022, I made a brand-new purchase of a kit. Tires manufactured in Spain in 2022. I was particularly impressed with how the rubber performed; the vehicle has excellent steering, good acceleration and braking, it is quiet within the cabin, and it instills a sense of trust in the driver. Skating on the track was supposed to happen this season, but things just didn't work out the way they were supposed to. However, the price you pay for all of the excellent is extremely rapid wear. During the course of the season, I covered around 20,000 kilometers by combining city and highway driving. I've observed that the tread wears down in a startlingly short amount of time. In addition, throughout the course of the season, approximately 7 punctures were sealed. I was under the impression that there were a greater number of nails on the roadways, but the most exciting item was waiting for me when I switched out my shoes for the season. One of the cylinders had its inner rim completely eaten away, right down to the cord! With only a little bit more time, things might come to a very tragic end. It was at the beginning of the season when the collapse occurred. Before that, there was a large supply of branded rubber; China evaluated some of it; however, a single set was sufficient for at least three seasons, which is equivalent to around 50,000 kilometers. You are free to accept the offer of 40,000 dollars to pay for tires for an entire season if you believe it will not be wasteful. But I won't be taking Michelin again, and I won't recommend it to anyone else.

Pros
  • Controllability! It moves along as if it were guided by rails. There was no drifting, and the resistance to hydroplaning was excellent. Weight - the rubber is very light. Silence = almost no sounds.
Cons
  • To the cord throughout the duration of the season! I had no idea this would happen. Extremely delicate and easily sensitive to all kinds of damage.
