This may be more of a decoration than anything else. This sleeve doesn't give me much confidence that it will reinforce the hose, but I'm not familiar with pre-made hoses. They can have the same loose fit. Even after the best effort, it's a bit loose. I'm not sure if the instructions are complete. You will be prompted to wrap tape around the end to prevent fraying when cutting to length. This may depend on the specific application, but in my case the end of the magna-clamp hose would not have been able to expand enough to reattach the heater hose to its connector with this tape. Your mileage may vary, but when using it with the recommended tube sizes, I ended up with a longer length than advertised. Attaching the sleeve to the hose is not difficult.
