not bad for the price but not great

Not a bad buy for the price but it took a bit of effort to figure out the best way to use the round ice tray. First, consider spending a few bucks more for a round ice cream mold that snaps open. If you choose this one you will not need a funnel as shown in the photos. I tried my best to get one and found it completely unnecessary. The square shape in this set is beautiful. At first I didn't like the round ice cream shape, but I thought about finding a method that works really well. It's best to do this while the mold is in the freezer, but if you can't do that it's not a problem, it just helps prevent a little splattering when moving. Place the bottom half of the round ice cream mold in/onto a suitable glass casserole or baking sheet to catch any minor leaks that may occur because of the hassle of wiping down the freezer or breaking off after freezing. Then measure out 10 ounces of water and pour it into the bottom mold (I experimented with this to find the right amount). Place the upper mold on/into the lower mold. When you install it you will see that the water only rises to the top of the holes in the top mold. When you let go of it it levitates which seems to be a problem. Don't worry, just place the square shape on top of the round shape and fill in. Partially/evenly fill each square into the mold to distribute the water evenly and when the squares are filled the weight of the water will prevent the top round mold from floating just enough to make a decent round ice cream.
