It is not part of the Mercruiser.
I bought this item thinking it was IAC Mercruiser part #862998 when actually it is an automotive equivalent not a Mercruiser. The Mercruiser part doesn't have the same guts as this one. My boat wouldn't run with this part but after changing to a real Mercruiser part it works great! Unfortunately, 34 days have passed and the free 30-day return policy has expired.
