While this filament gives good results, it can be difficult to achieve such a glossy finish on the entire print. If you just use it like any other PLA filament, you'll find that the edges of your print have a nice shiny metallic look, but the base and top coats can be dull (and frankly, ugly). These colors look terrible without the filament ). seem to be). Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to polish or restore that shine. I've tried sanding, heat, steam, polyurethane, etc. After getting this dull look there seems to be no recovery. I'll keep trying and update if I find a method, but it doesn't look promising. The best solution is to make sure your shiny surfaces aren't parallel to the bed. This material is great for vases, busts, figurines, etc. or any other print that you can orient properly. Don't try to print a box where you expect the top and bottom to look as glossy as the sides. I was able to (sort of) work around the bottom layer issues by using an underlay and keeping the overextrusion to a minimum. . You will get lines, but they will be shiny :) The top layer is a bit more complicated, but the principle is the same. Try to avoid surfaces that are perpendicular to your head. In fact, you'll get better results with sloping tops and bottoms. The tricks you may have used to make your regular PLA prints look smooth and shiny work against you with this filament. This material will NOT grind or polish the beans. The supports should be on concealed surfaces as you will get stuck with any dimples. This thread is stiff and sticks to the spool. Make sure you have a line guide so the line doesn't pull off the spool or you can get caught. (That clicking of dissolving thread means I'm checking my printer every 30 seconds so you can leave the room if you're the nervous type :) Please note these are 0.5kg spools. Many people have complained about it and the price, but it goes perfectly with other specialty yarns. It would be nice to have larger spools that you could order (especially if you only need one of the colors), but this isn't really intended or appreciated as a replacement for PLA for everyday printing.
