What do I know. on Switches & Relays

If you've owned a vehicle for a long time it's a good idea to have someone else drive it so they can tell you if there might be any problems you're becoming accustomed to have, and did not even notice. I didn't realize it, but one day I finally decided to find out why I sometimes had trouble starting my truck. I was afraid that one day I would put the key in and not be able to start. Miraculously, after comparing it to one of the spares, I found that the key was quite worn out. I jumped on the line because the switch was also loose and unreliable. This led me here to look for a new switch, thinking that my toggle switches were probably as worn out as the key, especially when the new key was fuzzy in the switch as well. instructions and got to work. This is tricky and you need to be careful when taking the old switch apart that you don't mix up the toggle switches and keep them in the same order they came out of the old one. The code on each jar was also applied to multiple jars, requiring a magnifying glass to confirm the code. I wrote them down and arranged them in order, aligning the cylinder in the correct order just in case. Long story short, I put in new cups, put everything back together, put it back in the truck and bam! This is a brand new game. No more wobbling or re-inserting the key and trying again, it's now tight and strong. Be careful with the control ball and follow the instructions to the letter "T". I nearly damaged the retaining spring. The only difference is that the buttons are now metal. No brass so maybe a bit more durable but it took a while for the key to work and turning the ignition on was smoother. With new mugs and a key, all sharp edges must be washed together.
