I've already cut 20 points with my first knife. I haven't flipped it yet. I use some cutting fluid and lightly drill a pilot hole (not all the way through the weld). Exact enough so that the guide pin does not "wander". I let the blade do its work without pressing on the drill. It is enough that the blade remains in contact with the metal and checks it frequently until the weld breaks.
