Worked great and the connections matched exactly (note the obvious - cut the grooves and associated ridges from the same side of the blanks, they match up better) Very happy with these bits, so one great value money quality. Of course I checked the bolts by removing them and adding a drop of blue thread lock and reinstalling them with appropriate torque (not over tightened) so I didn't have a problem with things falling apart. I learned a lesson about the $75 Freud bit to always check fasteners (screws in this case, set screws in other cases) before using a bit for the first time. I've also run them on another project with some red oak pieces and they've done a great job on all of them so all in all - they're worth it for the few hundred feet of work I've put in so far and it looks like it look like they should last quite a while without needing sharpening.
