I am very satisfied with this sealing paste. I have had it for more than three years, there has been no deterioration. The oil is not separated, rancid or dried out. (I live in a cold place and it will be kept sealed in the original packaging). The color is extremely rich, penetrates the Xuan paper with high contrast and gives a professional result even with my poorly cut seals. There are also no oil stains or discoloration around the seal. For those with problems: noodles should not be used very cold. First, heat it to an acceptable temperature, mix well, and then use. It gets very hard, won't stir, and won't stick to the stone when cold. This is castor oil, cold oil is mostly solid. Conversely, if you live in a warm area, be sure to stir the pasta at least every three months to avoid separation (which turns the oil rancid) and keep the box sealed. to avoid dehydration. Finally, the pigment is natural cinnabar. This means that the color will vary (my batch was slightly orange). That also means it's toxic. Avoid touching it on food surfaces and wash hands thoroughly with soap and water afterwards. Do not overheat if heated, mercury fumes are harmful to you. Then again, there's a reason cinnabar is still used. You can't get the right color and saturation any other way, it tolerates wet processing once dry, and is 100% archival white: vermilion and charcoal are dyes that will last longer than any archival paper you apply them to.
