Very good sharpener. Act!

Looks like a very good sharpening steel. Bought as a gift, not really used. I have another diamond whetstone and have made a career out of being a chef. I like oval surfaces versus round ones. The 12 inch length allows you to work with almost any blade length, a few strokes and a wipe of the blade and you're back in business. It is very light and therefore easy to handle. Inexperienced users are advised to place the tip on a non-slip surface perpendicular to the counter and run the blade end-to-end from the end of the handle to the table top at a very slight angle and applying light pressure, first on one side and then the other . Wipe the residue off the blade and get to work! Take your time. I look forward to showing my son how to use it effectively.
