This grater is so useful! We use it all the time to sort cheese. However, when we started grating carrots, due to the higher torque required to grate carrots compared to softer things like cheese, parts of the handle became loose and broke within a few weeks. I drilled some small holes and connected the two parts of the handle with wire and everything worked great. After that, it almost never breaks off and the handle stays together. BTW I used cat5e plastic coated spare wire. I've looked at other similar rotary graters and some have solid handles that could be more durable. If I were to buy another one, or for someone else, I would consider buying another one with a stronger grip. However, we've had ours for over a year and a half, so we definitely got our money's worth. With the patch on the grip I put on it will last a little longer I think. ^_^
