Can't believe it works so well. My computer is upstairs in the attic, on the opposite side of the house. I used to use wifi and an extension cord. I had 7-12 Mbps at best and the connection was extremely unstable. These bad guys hooked up, and wow, it's like night and day. I get 17Mbps (our maximum DSL speed I know) and a 100% stable connection. It really looks like my computer is right next to the modem. A few tips: Avoid as many surge protectors, outlet extenders, etc. as possible, as they can add extra noise. One or two seem good based on other reviews. I have two devices plugged directly into their outlets. Try connecting to the same circuit before the switch. Not me; Mine definitely goes through the breaker but everything seems fine. Although the manufacturer does not recommend. I expect higher speeds will be more affected. DO NOT panic if it seems out of sync when you first connect. These devices are equipped with an automatic power saving feature, and if they are not synced with each other or your computer is idle, they will turn off. They will turn back on when you sync your devices or turn on your computer AFTER syncing. You only need to sync them once.
