Great instrument, fits digital thermometers
I use it to measure soil temp in soil and slightly above. A little slow to get readings but otherwise works great. It stays on indefinitely when open and off when closed. I love this feature because it lives in my backpack. The hold function is great for capturing two different readings and helps with data collection. F or C. Also has max/min. Bigger than I thought it would be, but not too big at all. Runs on one AAA battery. Great tool that I use almost every day. Take good care of it and I'm sure it will only last a few months.
