I use my portable sudoku generator quite often. It's great to do something while you're waiting at the doctor's office or just relaxing at home. Anyone considering getting one of these should definitely get one with a backlight, as the numbers are almost impossible to see without the lights on. Even when the battery is dead, the light can become so dim that the numbers are difficult to read. I'll just change the battery then. Since I use rechargeable batteries, it's not wasted. I bought one for my niece for Christmas and she asked if there was a way to write multiple numbers in the boxes. I didn't know as I don't solve sudoku that way and I didn't find a way. (I don't have the manual anymore.) So if this is a must-have for you, you might be disappointed. However, this is a good machine for beginners because you can set it up to help you. And there are 4 difficulty levels. There is also a "Solve" feature where you can input a puzzle from an external source, but I don't see the point of it. 2 other small problems: If you need glasses to read fine print, you probably need them for a puzzle game. I don't always use mine to read, but this machine needs it. In addition, the included stylus is very thin. I use an ergonomic retractable ballpoint pen. This will help keep writer's cramp to a minimum.
