They work well so far, seem to give about the same or maybe a little less heat than a standard incandescent lamp of equivalent wattage. Be sure to read and follow the instructions. Refer to the instructions provided with the lamp for the distance the lamp should be from the heated zone. Placing such bulbs too close can harm the animal. Due to the high UV output, these lamps are closest to 12 inches and may be further depending on the animal. This affects the ability to use the heating aspect of the lamp. All in all a good lamp at a lower price than the name suggests. Just make sure it works properly in your application by providing enough heat while following clearance guidelines.
