I wanted to replace the radiant heater I used to have in the basement to keep out the cold. While I liked the quiet operation, I didn't like how long it took for the room to heat up. What I love about this convection heater is that it provides instant heat. It's much better suited to my needs, plus it's very cute. Installation is easy, just take all the parts out of the box, insert the legs and secure with the screws provided. The heater can be controlled either from the front panel of the unit or from the remote control. The heater has both high and low settings and setpoints ranging from 50°F to 90°F. It can work with or without the flame effect, with a range of brightness settings in between. I think it's a cute little block and works well to add warmth and atmosphere. I love that it has transparent side panels so the flame effect can be seen from all sides that aren't facing the wall. I'm attaching a video so you can see the flame effect and get an idea of the sound. I think the dancing flames are quite spectacular and beautiful. The sound corresponds to a quiet fan. I find it blends in with background noise and I don't notice it when I sit away from the device. Overall, I'm glad I bought this heater. I had my doubts for such a cheap device, but it's really nice.
