Also works well with wood

The terrace in front of the front door was made too high, so the storm door scratches it when opened. I tried different ways to sand the deck but hand brushing or even sanding with a sander didn't work. It didn't help that the deck was coated in a very strong epoxy. It took about an hour with this grinding wheel to scrape about two square feet of surface to a depth of 1/8-1/4. ". Surprisingly, the wood turned out to be almost as hard as the coating. At the same time as this disc, I ordered a new angle grinder, not realizing that the grinder required a smaller hole in the disc than this one. (This 5/8" with an insert .) But the locknut is still tight, and the wheel doesn't wobble at all. I don't recommend anyone to do what I did, but in this case it worked for me. I should have ordered the right size when I realized I had made a mistake, but I didn't have time. I had 48 hours to sand and recoat the deck before rain was announced. I can't say if this wheel will work well with the materials it was designed for, but it will work with wood. I chose this size 4" instead of 4.5" because I felt his pattern would help disperse the wood dust, which it did. You might think that this sander would make the wood too rough, but it was pretty smooth and didn't need extra sanding. Even though I sanded wood, I still used thick gloves and goggles. I highly recommend Dewalt glasses. They cost around $10 here at Revain.
