Not suitable for our purposes. Even after turning them by hand, they still didn't hold the pins securely enough that they wouldn't be pulled out by the pieces of wood we measured. In fact, I was able to grab the ends of the pins and pull them out with little effort. I suppose we could turn them with wrenches but the jaws didn't look like they would take much pressure before breaking so I returned them. I didn't give them a star because they may be suitable for use by others and the jaw design won't damage the pins. That's probably why they don't hold the pens well enough for our purposes.
