Review on BLACK+DECKER 7-Quart Digital Slow Cooker: Chalkboard Surface, Slate, SCD4007 - Efficient Meal Preparation and Customizable Cooking Experience by Joel Gumbiner

Pot with handy lid and chalkboard

The surface of the chalkboard is useful when I take unfamiliar food to a big dinner, so people know what they're getting without having to stand by the pot and explain. A lockable cover is very useful for keeping your car floor mats clean. The beef turned out very tender following the roast recipe that came with the slow cooker. I used a chicken recipe from another slow cooker cookbook and the chicken almost wasn't ready by the time allotted. Also, I would like the instructions to indicate whether or not to close the lid during cooking. Another brand I've had with this feature in the past had instructions to never block it while cooking. I called Black & Decker and the rep said to block it while I was cooking. I think we will use this slow cooker often. It holds more food than small multi-cookers, and the extra weight just makes it a little more difficult to carry and clean. The vegetable lasagna recipe in the instructions was a big hit with my friends. Even the man who only took a bite because he thought he wouldn't like meatless lasagna came back for a big bite.
