Description of BLACK+DECKER 7-Quart Digital Slow Cooker: Chalkboard Surface, Slate, SCD4007 - Efficient Meal Preparation and Customizable Cooking Experience

Chalkboard Surface - Get creative! The exterior of the slow cooker is a chalkboard, perfect for drawing on and for writing down recipes or allergy concerns. Great for getting kids involved in the kitchen!. Chalk Included - You get two sticks of chalk with the slow cooker. Plus the surface works with any traditional chalk sticks (not recommended for use with chalk pens). Built-In Lid Holder - Keep countertops clean and stir & serve without holding the lid! Not recommended for small appliances

Does not get very hot and does not cook well. Really disappointed. We slow cook 2 or 3 meals a week and were sad when our old CrockPot finally died, but excited to try digital. None of our recipes cooked well in this slow cooker and unfortunately we missed the return window to find out if it was us or the product. We do not recommend this product.

Didn't heat properly

Check out the reviews on the Black and Decker website - there are a lot of reviews about the same problem I had: the multi-cooker doesn't heat well. I'm cooking pulled pork for a church dinner, I used two equal sized slow cookers for two equal sized roasted pork. My old stove worked perfectly and the roast was ready at the right time. It's been several hours and the roast in my new Black and Decker slow cooker is still not done. (I'm moving the roast to an old stove.) It's really pretty, but I…

Updated - not what I was hoping for

UPDATE: I have contacted Black & Decker and told them what is going on and gave them info on my slow cooker and they are shipping a new one, so definitely happy with it how do they at least deal with it. I hope this replacement works better and it was just a bad batch. When I first received this multi cooker (only 6 months ago) I was thrilled and it seemed like it was just what I needed. The last 2 times I used it, it turned off automatically instead of going into heating mode. So when I got…

Stinks even after cleaning

Overall I like the design of the multicooker - the lid has rubber rims to seal, the handles and how they slide over the lid for an even more secure fit when travelling. but the elastic band around the lid keeps all odors out. My first experience with this slow cooker was cooking soup - I have yet to get rid of the smell of the rubber ring that fits on the rim of the lid. I've tried everything. And I mean it stinks. It sits on our counter until I find a home for it, and every time I walk past I…

Handles are rather thin and made of plastic

Handles are rather thin and made of plastic. I tried to make soup and ate carrots and potatoes. After 4 hours of cooking on high and 4 hours on low, the vegetables were still not fully cooked. It was also annoying that the metal loop you use to secure the lid was awkward to maneuver and I had to wiggle it back and forth a bit to get it out when I needed to secure both sides. Also, I'm not sure if this is a habit from the last multi cooker I had, but to attach the lid you have to pull down the…

Pot with handy lid and chalkboard

The surface of the chalkboard is useful when I take unfamiliar food to a big dinner, so people know what they're getting without having to stand by the pot and explain. A lockable cover is very useful for keeping your car floor mats clean. The beef turned out very tender following the roast recipe that came with the slow cooker. I used a chicken recipe from another slow cooker cookbook and the chicken almost wasn't ready by the time allotted. Also, I would like the instructions to indicate…
