Not sure why the camper would be made without them but they are! Our under bed storage was 27 inches deep and extremely difficult to lift. Also, I would use a 2x4 piece to support the bed while pulling out stored items, which was a pain. Enough! We started installation last night and the only issue I had was the block of wood holding the posts on the raised part of the bed was bumping against the bed frame. No problem, just remove it and move it 1/2 inch. That's why the instructions say: Test before gluing! BTW, the directions were easy to follow and they were accurate. I'm pretty smart, so maybe that's why I didn't have the problems that some of the reviewers did. I would say if you are unfamiliar with drill and screwdriver then get someone to install this. Finished the install this morning and am very happy. One hand to lift the top and it stays up. No more 2x4 when deleting saved items. I highly recommend this product!
